Bael, real name Michael James Bell is  an artist from the North East of the UK.

His work is an attempt to create a haunting, yet beautiful visualisation of the human form.
After solo shows and group exhibitions across the UK and Europe, Bael’s work has found its own place and he has a dedicated, international following. With influences ranging from: Austrian Expressionism, Art Nouveau and Japanese Anime, his work has developed a signature style. The works are romantic, and nostalgic,  touching not the traditional but being brought into the contemporary realm with his introduction of colourful tattoos adorning the women he paints.

“The best way I can sum this up is to say My work is about capturing human emotion and form with a sense of simplicity, to express something complex, in as few words as possible.”
