Heath Kane has always been interested in the point where art overlaps with design.
Born in Australia, Heath set-out to explore the world in his early 20’s, moving to San Francisco and then London in the early Internet days. During that time has been working at the forefront of design, working for many of the world’s leading advertising and branding agencies.
In 2001 he set up his own studio in Shoreditch, at a time when a relatively unknown Banksy was still stenciling on the bridges and walls around where he worked and the whole area was coming to life. Since then he has been fascinated by the creativity and power of urban art.
His debut collection draws inspiration from both his commercial design background and the origins of pop art – a blend of design and art. His approach follows the practice of poster making and design, with a focus on creating simple, iconic and memorable pieces. Within the artwork he tries to distill subtle but often subversive themes.
